<H1>Named applicants for the title of the best car of the year in the United States</H1>

The jury of the competition «the North American passenger car and SUV of the year» announced the short-list of contenders for the main prize.

Up to the end of the year the list will be reduced to three finalists and winners are traditionally announced at the motor show in Detroit which will open in January 2013.

Of the 30 cars and 15 of off-road cars, initially participating in the competition, in the short-list has got 11 and 10 candidates of each category, respectively.
