Honda Civic Type R 2013

While the American analog of Type R disperses as hot pies, the European division doesn't hurry to please public with a finished product and only occasionally throws up food for reflections. Official sources are silent and to this day, warming up interest through automobile editions. This time the Auto Express Internet magazine became a source of fresh information.

New Honda Civic Type R will appear in 2013. It is quite predictable, the charged version Honda Tsivik "will seize" in wheels of bigger diameter. Appearance also will change at the expense of own aerodynamic weather-cloth. A bumper, thresholds, a spoiler, a front grille and, certainly, red шильдики "H" will distinguish Civic Type R of the 2013th modeling year from usual Honda Civic versions. Except this Type R 2013 will allocate with the improved controllability at the expense of other steering and more rigid shock-absorbers and springs. An interior it will be traditional to differ existence of sports seats, and also other attributes Type R.

And if all above-mentioned news of very few people surprised, information on the motor to make it is quite capable. Let's begin with that the new engine will possess 210 horsepowers, and its volume will make 2.0 liters. And in it there would be nothing surprising if not one "but" - the engine will equip with the turbine. According to the automagazine new Type R 2013 will be accelerated in 6,5 seconds, and the maximum speed will be on a mark of 240 km/h.

But why turbine? And in what sense if existence of the turbine added only 9 h.p. in comparison with last Type R? Especially all of us perfectly know potential atmospheric К20 - 220 h.p. at the Japanese Type R version. And it favourably distinguished Civic Type R from other not less worthy hot hatchbacks. The answer lies somewhere in between a tendency of the market and ecological norms. On the one hand Honda was compelled to establish the turbine to please to environmental friendliness since the DoHC i-VTEC technologies didn't allow to correspond to ecological norms of Euro-5.

On the other hand, Honda lets out already as two generations of Honda Civic Type R with one engine. Since 2001 on 2012 ruddy-headed K20 under a cowl of charged Honda Tsivik honestly "threshed". Neither the volume, nor capacity, neither a torque, nor any other parameter wasn't exposed to global changes. Minor changes in the motor took place to be, but it practically wasn't reflected in consumer qualities in any way. Once, in 2001 Civic Type R Honda was out of competition. Now, against sharply increased number of competitors, Civic Type R has no clear advantages. It is possible to consider that addition of the turbine is the first step in Honda Civic Type R development on the new vector, to please new consumer trends.

New Honda Civic Type R will go on sale in 2013 with an estimated cost in Europe $35 000.
