The prototype of Acura RLX debuted in New York

Acura presented on motor show in New York the conceptual version of the successor of the growing old RL model. The new car got other name and will appear in шоурумах dealers next year under RLX marking. While change of the name is predictable, considering practice of an imenovaniye of the majority of other models of the company, use of hybrid installation with a full drive became the main innovation of RLX.
This installation was shown for the first time at the end of last year on the Tokyo motor show, and already approved to use in the NSX supercar which will enter the market in three years. The system uses three electric motors: two on one axis and the third, integrated into a 7-step transmission with double coupling. In addition, the car is equipped with petrol V6. A food of all three electric motors is made central lithium - the ion accumulator.

The system allows to use some modes of movement, including exclusively electric or petrol, and also a hybrid mode. Difficult installation uses the bilateral monitoring system of a torque allowing instantly to generate a torque on back wheels at passing of turns. It, according to Acura, deduces the car on new level of controllability and allows it to enter into turns "as on rails".




3,5-liter V6 with direct injection of fuel in a combination to three electric motors provides RLX cumulative capacity in 370 horsepowers. Acura predicts productivity at V8 level in a combination to fuel consumption in 7,8 liters on 100 kilometers of a way in the mixed mode of driving.

For the buyers indifferent to the advanced hybrid technologies, Acura plans to let out the standard front-wheel RLX model equipped with exclusively petrol V6 in capacity in 310 h.p. For improvement of controllability of this model engineers of Acura added one more new function under the name Precision All Wheel Steer. This system provides independent control of management by an angle of rotation of the right and left back wheels with use electricly operated drives.


All other elements of the car are quite expected for a flagman sedan of Acura. The firm design under the name "Keen Edge" is focused on aerodynamic forms and proportions. 20-inch shod aluminum rims are tightened in high-efficiency tires 255/35 R20. In respect of dimensions of RLX RL is almost identical: the wheel base grew only by 5 centimeters.

Inside the advanced information and entertaining system, two LCD screens, a stereosystem with 14 loudspeakers and navigation system with function of recognition of a voice are located. Security aids turn on some radar-tracking systems of monitoring, and also a safety cushion.




















Though presented at an exhibition in New York RLX from the technical point of view is the concept car, almost all its functions will appear on serial model which will appear at dealers at the beginning of the next year.
