Volkswagen XL1

Mass production of a supereconomic hybrid starts after a premiere on the Geneva motor show.

The double car 3 800 mm long, 1 660 mm wide and 1 150 mm high is the most streamline in the world: the coefficient of aerodynamic resistance makes only 0.189. The suspension bracket is executed from aluminum, stabilizers from a coal plastic, brake disks from ceramics, a body — from the plastic, strengthened carbon that allowed to keep weight at the level of 795 kg.

The XL1 power plant from the 48 hp two-cylinder diesel 0.8 and the electric motor on 27 forces in Combined with the seven step-robotic gearbox with two clutches provides 0-100 km / h in 12.7 seconds and a top speed of 160 km / h.

At an average consumption of diesel fuel of 0,9 l / 100 km, emissions of carbon dioxide shouldn't exceed only 21 g/km. Only on electricity the novelty is capable to pass to 50 km, and the 10-liter tank of diesel fuel will increase a course stock to 496 km.

The first 100 copies of Volkswagen XL1 will be realized in Europe, the USA and China.
