Fiat will rename Punto hatchback into Pandona


The Fiat company is going to replace the name of a hatchback of Punto of the following generation, reports il Giornale. According to the edition, the new car debuts in 2014 under the name Pandona.
On sale the car will appear one year later. It will be constructed on the modernized platform of present Punto. Production of the model now collected in Italy, can be adjusted at plant in the Serbian city of Kragujevac.Earlier it was reported that the Fiat company is going to present by 2016 of 19 new models (including nine Alfa Romeo and six Maseratis). All of them will be issued in Italy. At the same time, assembly of the compact Punto models and 500 will transfer out of borders of Western Europe where production costs cheaper.

In the Italian market Fiat Punto it is offered with ten engines, including the petrol and 0,9, 1,2, 1,3 and 1,4 liters diesel units developing from 69 to 135 horsepowers.
